The Süddeutsche Zeitung, published in Munich, Bavaria, is one of the largest daily newspapers in Germany. On October 6, 1945, five months after the end of the Second World War in Germany, the SZ was the first newspaper to receive a license from the Bavarian US military administration. The first issue was published that evening and supposedly printed by the same (reused) printing machines that printed Mein Kampf. The first article starts with:
