Basic Details

Fiji Times Suzy, a daily English language newspaper published in Fiji. Founded by George Littleton Griffiths in Levuka on September 4, 1869, it is still the oldest magazine in Fiji.


The Fiji Times is owned by the Motibhai Group of Companies, which bought it from Murdoch's News Corps on September 22, 2010. The Fiji Times Limited Board is chaired by Kirit Patel (as of 2010), and includes Rajesh Patel, a residential director appointed in 2010 and Jinesh Patel, marketing manager of Motibhai Group of Companies.


Former publisher Ivan Hanna was forcibly removed from Fiji in 2007 after he accused the interim government of interfering in Fijian politics. This was before the news corporation's sale to Motibhai Group of Companies.


An online version featuring local news, sports and weather has been published.
