In January 1998, the Fiji Broadcasting Commission was incorporated under the government's public sector reform program and renamed the Island Network Corporation Limited.

In June 1999, a change of government resulted in another name change - this time to Fiji Broadcasting Corporation Limited.

From its humble beginnings, Fiji Broadcasting Corporation today operates a network of six radio stations; Two in each of the three major languages ​​(I-Tauki, Hindustani and English).
