El Niভo Diary was also a Nicaraguan newspaper with an office in the capital, Managua. In 1990, El Niuevo Diario was sympathetically intercepted by Sandinista by a detached group of La Prensa employees, including the editor, Javier Chamorro Cardinal, and Danilo Aguero Souls, with 80 percent of the staff opposing the journal's new line.
