El Nacional is a Dominican magazine founded by Dr. Rafael Molina Morrillo, as President / Owner of Ahora! Publications, 1966. The online edition of the magazine was founded on July 17, 1997.

As of 2012, the director of the magazine is Radhames Gomez Pepan.

In February 2017, the magazine garnered international attention when it published a picture of the 45th President of the United States, Donald Trump, mistakenly portraying Alec Baldwin instead of Donald Trump. The paper quickly apologized.
