Basic Details

The Southern Heraldis a local newspaper founded on September 9, 1951 and is currently distributed in the communes of Puerto Varas, Llanquihue and Frutillar, impacting a population of more than 50 thousand inhabitants of the Llanquihue Lake Basin. With its five weekly editions (from Tuesday to Saturday) and its 1,200 copies per edition, El Heraldo Austral is one of the fastest growing written media in the Los Lagos Region that is always present in all places where there is flow of people, this is how we find ourselves in: hotels, restaurants, cafes, shops, courts, medical and dental centers, clinics and doctors' offices, interurban locomotion and kiosks, among other places, in the Llanquihue Basin communes. This newspaper responds to the need to fluidly inform the community of the events that occurred in our area. We have a strong tourist focus, because Puerto Varas and the Lake District have become the fourth tourist reference point in the country, after Easter Island, San Pedro de Atacama and Patagonia.
