Nezavisne Novine

Basic Details

Nezavison Novine is a daily newspaper based in Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina. In 1999, after the Dayton Accords, which ended the Bosnian war, Ilzco Copanza co-founded Novin with a weekly independent newspaper, Nezvision, "to build better relations between Serbs, Muslims and Croats in Bosnia." The paper was funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) as part of the Dayton Accords, which called for funding for non-nationalist media. Starting with 4,000 circulations, the magazine became daily, and over the next five years, its circulation rose to 16,000.
