Bhutan News Service is the first news agency in Bhutan. It has been operating as an independent news agency for Bhutanese refugee journalists since 2004 in Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal. This is probably the first time that very few refugees in exile consider the media or journalism. The organization is run solely by refugees who were mostly born and raised in refugee camps and without prior media experience.
