ATN Bangla
ATN Bangla is a satellite-based Bengali language television channel. Its studio is at WASA Bhaban, Kawran Bazar, Dhaka. The channel is broadcast across South Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and North America. The channel offers a wide variety of contemporary events including a wide range of news, movies, dramas, talk shows. The channel started broadcasting on July 15, 1996. Started broadcasting from Europe in 2001. The channel started broadcasting news on 16 August 2001.
In 2016, the ATN Bangla UK channel was reprimanded by the British telecom regulator Ofcom for violating domestic investment rules. ATN Bangla tried to argue that its local body did not directly benefit from the investment (since the brands presented do not operate in Europe), but Ofcom still held the channel liable for violating the broadcasting code.
