Basic Details

National Authority Weekly became a member of the Afghan media family on February 29, 2002. The founder of this weekly is the martyr Seyed Mostafa Kazemi; The late leader of the Afghan National Authority Party was a former trade minister and a member of the 15th House of Representatives. Martyr Kazemi, because of his great love and interest in cultural work, founded the National Authority Weekly in a situation where Afghanistan had just risen from the ashes of war and the Taliban regime had fallen.


National authority in the cultural, social, political, and other spheres began with eight pages in Dari and Pashto. In accordance with the conditions of the country, a page in English was added in the following years.


Initially, the weekly was printed in color; But now the weekly Black and White National Authority is published. National Authority Weekly is one of the most successful and effective print media due to its clear position, continuous and uninterrupted printing, type of writing and use of different media genres. In a survey conducted in 2006, Iqtedar Melli weekly ranked first among Kabul weeklies.


Its first managing director was Mr. Seyed Agha Hossein Sancharaki, who was in charge of managing and running this weekly from February 28, 2002 to April 25, 2004. Seyed Mohammad Ali Rezvani was in charge of managing and running this weekly from April 25, 2004 to June 1, 2017, and Ali Ahmadi has been the managing director of Iqtedar Melli weekly since December 2, 2017.
